By accessing or using md-edit ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is operated by md-edit ("we", "us", "our"). We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above.
md-edit is a browser-based Markdown editor. It stores your documents locally in your browser's IndexedDB by default. Optionally, you may enable cloud synchronization via:
The Service is provided free of charge. We may introduce paid features in the future, but any existing free features will remain available with reasonable notice of changes.
You retain full ownership of any content you create, import, or store using the Service. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your documents.
By using MD-Edit Cloud, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the sync service to you. This license terminates when you delete your account or your content.
When using Google Drive sync, your content is transmitted directly between your browser and Google's servers. We do not receive, store, or process your document content at any point.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MD-EDIT, ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY:
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which liability is asserted (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise), even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
We are not responsible for data loss. Data loss may occur due to, but not limited to:
We make reasonable efforts to ensure synchronization reliability, but the Service is not a backup solution. You should always maintain independent copies of important documents.
The Service integrates with third-party providers including Google (Drive API, OAuth), Supabase (database, authentication), GitHub (OAuth), and Netlify (hosting). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the availability, reliability, or actions of any third-party service. Changes to their APIs, terms, or pricing may affect the functionality of md-edit, and we shall not be liable for any resulting disruption.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of significant changes.
You may stop using the Service at any time. Your locally stored documents remain in your browser and are not affected. To remove cloud data, request account deletion (MD-Edit Cloud) or revoke access (Google Drive).
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless md-edit, its operators, and contributors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
